A densely spaced, east-facing vineyard planted in 1989, Valdeginés consists of two micro-terroirs where vines lie either in the shallow soil of soft sandstone slopes or along the ancient rock terraces on cooler, deeper soils.

This wine has a well-defined and structured backbone that contains angular shapes which denote power. It presents itself with cautious speech in a submissive way when first entering the mouth, and the strength of its blended tannins and its powerful balance are appreciable in the mid-palate.

QUINTANILLA 2019

Quintanilla’s vines were planted in 1951 in a former medieval village of Elvillar de Alava and cover 1.13ha. Quintanilla produces wines with great expressivity in the nose and a mouth full of freshness. Concentration of bright red fruits that create structured sensations marked by naturalness and a limpid definition. This very limited production wine is always lively and vibrant, with intense expression in the nose and a deep, dense palate.

San Lazaro’s vines were planted in 1956 in clay-limestone soil with a clay-sand texture, resulting in well-oxygenated terrain with great biological diversity and excellent potential for vine-growing. This vineyard gives us delicate wines of slender structures and great subtlety that generate vibrant emotions. Its fine and silky tannins melt in perfect harmony in the mouth, together with notes of wild red berries.

However, it turns darker and darker with notes of oyster sauce, warm pebble minerality, mussels and smoked spices. LA POZA DE BALLESTROS 2019

Grown in the Basque countryside surrounding the small village of Elvillar de Álava, this vineyard was planted in 1960 at an altitude of 1,824 feet above sea-level and covers 8.9-acres.

The wine made from La Poza is consistently bold and fruit-forward. This vineyard gives us "thick stroke" wines, where we feel the presence of volume and the intense flavors of ripe fruit that are matched with rich, structured tannins and depth of flavor.

Positioned on the rolling valley floor that lies at the base of the Sierra Cantabria Mountain range, the small 8.7-acre El Carretil vineyard was planted in 1975 and it is located at an altitude of 1,683 feet above sea-level.

This is a wine with deep sensations: one can feel the vibrant fruit along with fibrous and sculpted tannins. A fusion between ripe flavor profiles and the precision of mineral characters, the wine projects fine tannins and the encompassing texture of a delicate wine.

Spanish cigars, mineral, cocoa powder, some fine herbs, mussels and spices, with a background of fresh yet ripe, concentrated fruit showing crushed blackberries and blueberries.
