2005 is the inaugural vintage of Champagne Henriot’s new Prestige Cuvée, Hemera. An homage to Hemera, Greek Goddess of Daylight, this luminous cuvée is produced only in exceptional vintages from our historical crus, reflecting the terroir and vineyards that we have been working with for generations. . The blend exclusively uses fruit from six Grand Crus vineyards -- three Pinot Noir villages in the Montagne de Reims (Mailly Champagne, Verzy and Verzenay) and three villages of Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs (Chouilly, Avize and Mesnil-sur-Oger). The Cuvée Hemera 2005 is very precise and the grapes are picked when they have the perfect representation of the terroir. The base wine received 100% malolactic fermentation to add richness and texture, further highlighting the tremendous quality of the Chardonnay. The wine aged on the lees for at least 12 years and has a dosage of 5g/L. This Cuvée Hemera represents the fantastic potential of our vineyards and the balance of complexity and freshness in one bottle. A definite jewel in the Champagne Henriot portfolio.
96 points, Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast – “Only produced in the top years, this wine, named apparently after the Greek goddess of daylight, has just achieved maturity. It is rich in notes of almonds and toast that meld together with the ripe white fruits. It's a great wine that is impressive and ready to drink, although it will also easily age further."
