Via Nuova represents the traditional style of winemaking that is well-known here in Barolo. It is a wine that brings together grapes from seven different Crus across the Barolo region including two in Serralunga (Baudana and Gabutti), two in Monforte (Ravera and Mosconi) and three sites in our home of Barolo (Liste, Paiagallo and Terlo). This wine combines the power and structure of the southeastern part of the region with the freshness and aromatics of the other south and southwestern facing crus. These areas also have very different soils, so the layers of complexity and texture are very present. This wine is a perfect preview into the entirety of Barolo and is the wine that most reflects the overall quality of the vintage.

Press Notes:

94 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media – “The 2017 Barolo Via Nuova is stellar. In 2017, the Via Nuova is a bit nervous, the sign of a Barolo that is going to need a number of years to unwind. Bright red-toned fruit, chalk, crushed rocks, mint and white pepper add pretty aromatic top notes. As always, the Via Nuova is the most taut Barolo in the range. Via Nuova is a blend of seven vineyard sites; Terlo, Paiagallo and Liste (in Barolo); Ravera and Mosconi (in Monforte); and Gabutti and Baudana (in Serralunga).”
