The first vintage of Grand Malbec was bottled in 2005 with the goal every vintage that we showcase the absolute pinnacle of vinification of the Malbec grape. The vineyard for this wine comes from the area of Vista Flores in the Uco Valley, which runs just on the eastern foothills of the Andes Mountains. This desirable, high-altitude terroir is rocky and poor, creating some of the most intense and bold Malbec grapes in Mendoza. Seeing some of the most sunshine days in Argentina, this area sits over 3300 feet above sea level. The high altitude of this vineyard is beneficial to achieve full ripeness in balance with very cold nights for complexity and acidity.
“This is a tannic and powerful red with a linear backbone and blue fruits. Full to medium body, a racy backbone and a long, intense finish. Shows focus and muscle. Leave for two or three years." – 94 Points, James Suckling
