Our A Tempo is made from a co-plantation of Roussanne, Clairette, and Grenache Blanc (about a third of each) on a single parcel of clay, sand, and stones, and in years where the fruit is brought to perfect ripeness, we bottle this as a single-vineyard cuvée. This tripartite approach carries into the cellar, where a portion of the juice is matured in egg-shaped concrete tank, a portion in barrel, and a portion in stainless steel tank. It gives notes of honeysuckle, peach, jasmine, and white tea – a wine to drink now but one which can age another 10 years. 2017 was a small vintage in terms of yield, but outstanding in terms of quality.

Press Notes:

(93-95) Points, Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: “The 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Cuvee A Tempo is equal parts Clairette, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne, vinified and aged in a combination of barrique and concrete egg. Despite the different varieties, it's not far off from white Burgundy, showing hints of struck match on the nose and ample weight on the palate, with ripe pear and pineapple fruit balanced by crisp notes of lime zest and chalk dust on the lengthy finish."
