Nubiola is our youngest Barbaresco, with the first bottling dating back to 2001. With reference to the historical name of Nebbiolo, ‘Nubiola’ is comprised from six estate vineyards situated in three different Barbaresco villages. We use very traditional winemaking techniques to get the most from the varied soil types. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures for two weeks, then we age the wine in a mixture of small barriques and large 50hL Slavonian oak casks for 14 to 16 months. Of our three Barbarescos, you will find Nubiola the most approachable, showing floral and red fruit notes.
92 Points, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator - "Marked by spicy oak, this red is rich and laced with cherry, plum, menthol and tobacco flavors. Balanced and densely structured, showing length on the gripping finish. Best from 2023 through 2045. 2,500 cases made, 550 cases imported."
