The Vanotu site is located on the crossing of three Barbaresco municipalities in Treiso, Barbaresco, and Neive. It is produced using modern methods with controlled temperatures and an innovative mechanical plunger for the punching-down, which is controlled automatically for timing, intensity and duration of the work. The goal is to put into the bottle the maximum expression of the characteristics of Nebbiolo. Vanotu is aged for 20 to 22 months in barriques (80 percent new), then nine months in bottle before release. Our aim with each vintage is to create a wine that shows rich fruits and soft tannic complexity, and this single vineyard wine always combines powerful structure and perfumes.
“Pelissero’s 2015 Barbaresco Vanotu exudes freshness and energy, not to mention exceptional balance. Blood orange, pomegranate, ripe red cherry and French oak run through this super-expressive Barbaresco. The 2015 is bold and racy, but, like all of these wines, it needs more time in bottle to come into its own." (92-95 points) Antonio Galloni
