Since 2006, we have been meticulous in our vineyard management, shifting to organic viticulture and starting in 2010 farming with biodynamic methods. In a vintage like 2018 with a very rainy spring that brought very quick buds in early May, it was key for our team to be extremely detailed in the vineyard.
A very warm and dry summer allowed the vineyard to ripen with great evenness and balance, which will provide incredible acidity and structure to the wines. Harvest time brought some interesting new challenges as hail threatened and clouds circled the winery, but we avoided any issues allowing for a quick and very successful picking.
Both a lieu-dit and a climat, this vineyard just to the northwest of Champ Canet has the plump nature of Meursault and the mineral nature of Puligny due to the limestone and clay soils. It is one of the more rich plots in the area that vintage after vintage provides complex and supple wines.
