In addition to releasing the incredible 2013 vintage of our Leon Riserva, we re-release a 10th-Anniversary labeling of this wine, something that we do only in the best vintages that we make. The 2010 vintage was a very late harvest, which allowed the grapes to spend more time on the vines, allowing for the slow development of Nebbiolo’s captivating aromas and flavors. This extended hang time also help us meet the perfect balance of tannin and acidity – both so important for the ageability of Nebbiolo. 2010 is a vintage that shows much power and richness.
"This gorgeous wine opens with scents of ripe, dark-skinned berry, cake spice, star anise and a balsamic note. The delicious palate tastes of layers of juicy raspberry, black cherry, licorice and a hint of tobacco framed in firm refined tannins. It already shows impressive depth but hold for even more complexity. Drink 2018–2030." - Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, 96 Points. #69 on Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Cellar Selections of 2016!
